These hard fighting fast growing great eating prolific fish are a major party boat target given the restrictions on other “table friendly” species. Porgies are mostly caught on bait, but occasionally will attack small jigs. Chumming is a must when targeting these fish at anchor. In certain areas drift fishing can be very effective. These fish were clearly put in the ocean so that young anglers can get hooked on fishing!
