“Tilefish” is actually a large family of fishes. They are typically found in warm shallow waters. However, in the Northeast the Golden Tilefish species is typically found in very deep water just inshore of the canyons. Anglers need to be prepared to use a lot of weight, braided lines, and high speed reels. Great eating fish and because of the depth, they can be quite challenging.
