Most of coastal Connecticut is spitting distance from the North shore of Long Island and supports many of the same species including striped bass, fluke (summer flounder), black sea bass, porgies (scup), and blackfish (tautog). Most anglers fish both the Long Island shore and the Connecticut shore when the seas permit.
